Due 1/15: Read one grade level book and fill out the Bookman's contest form. It must be signed by a guardian. This reading time can also double as reading log time. You know a book is at your level if you can read a page without finding 5 words that you don't know how to read. Pick a page from the middle of your book that has about as many words as the other pages in the book to test this. Try to pick a book in which you find 1-4 words that you don't know how to read. There will be no additional homework on Wednesday or Thursday.

Thursday, January 7, 2010

due 1/8: Draw and color a parrot. Include 4 toes on each foot, and a curved beak. On the back, write one thing you've learned about parrots. This assignment was started in class. (:

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Wednesday, January 6th is a $1 dress down day (:

Homework for Tuesday and Wednesday is to review the over 300 spelling words for the 2nd grade spell-off. We had a practice spell-off in class, and you've had all of these words before. Study hard!

Do the Bookman's challenge. Read and record all the books you can to win a field trip, and maybe even $15,000.00 to spend on our school!

The Daddy Daugther Dance is coming up soon. Buy your tickets by the 11th. I took Audrey last year, and we had so much fun!

Even if you're not coming back next year, please fill out the re-enrollment form and send it back as soon as possible. Thanks (: We hope you're coming back!

Happy New Year! It's so good to be back with all my students!
